Cursive Handwriting Generator
Type any text, choose a real handwriting font, and download a high-quality PNG — works for invitations, posters, logos, and more.
This cursive handwriting generator turns anything you type into real handwriting in seconds. Unlike Unicode text tools — which produce copy-paste characters for social bios and captions — the handwriting generator renders your words in genuine cursive script fonts (Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Pacifico, Allura, Sacramento, and 20 more) and exports a clean PNG image. It also gives you full control: alignment, font size, color, and a transparent-background option for layered designs. Use it when you need a finished graphic of cursive writing rather than just pasteable text — for wedding invitations, posters, social-media banners, Canva projects, Google Docs headers, or print materials. Type above, pick a font, fine-tune the look, and Save. Free, unlimited, no signup, no watermark.
How the cursive handwriting generator works
- Type your text in the input above — a name, a quote, a header, a full sentence.
- Pick a handwriting font from the cards. Each card shows the real font preview so you can compare letterforms before choosing. Filter by category (Google Docs Default / Installable) if you plan to use the same font in a doc later.
- Adjust the look — alignment, size, color, transparent background. Everything previews live above the cards.
- Save as PNG — your cursive handwriting downloads as a high-resolution image you can drop into Canva, Word, Google Docs, posters, Photoshop, or any design tool.
If you also want a pasteable Unicode version (for an Instagram bio or Discord name), the Text Styles tab on the homepage does the copy-paste flavour. This page does the image flavour.
Real handwriting fonts vs Unicode cursive — which do you need?
"Cursive writing" online comes in two technical flavours, and the right one depends on where it's going to live:
- Real handwriting fonts (this generator) — actual cursive typefaces rendered to a canvas, then exported as a PNG image. The result is a graphic. You can't paste it into a tweet, but you can drop it into any design, document, slide, or print job. Use this for invitations, posters, signage, logos, and any place that accepts an image.
- Unicode cursive text — characters that already look cursive (𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈). Pastes anywhere a normal text field accepts text — Instagram bio, Discord name, Facebook post. Limited to letters that exist in the Unicode cursive block, and the look depends on the reader's device fonts.
This page is the right tool when you need cursive writing as a picture — a finished image you can hand to a designer, print on a card, or layer in Canva. For pasteable cursive text, use the Text Styles tab on the homepage instead.
Where to use cursive handwriting images
- Wedding & party invitations — set the tone with handwritten names, dates, and headlines.
- Social-media banners & thumbnails — a cursive headline reads more personal than a typed one.
- Canva, Figma & Photoshop — drop the PNG straight into your layout, scale freely, and layer over photos.
- Google Docs & Word — insert as an image when the cursive font you want isn't in your editor.
- Printables & greeting cards — DIY thank-you notes, place cards, signage.
- Logo & brand mockups — prototype a hand-lettered wordmark before commissioning a designer.
- YouTube titles & thumbnails — handwriting catches the eye in a feed of bold sans-serifs.
For a downloadable signature of your name specifically, the Signature tab on the homepage is more focused.
Choosing a cursive handwriting font
The fonts in this generator fall into two practical buckets:
- Connected scripts (Dancing Script, Allura, Pinyon Script, Great Vibes, Sacramento) — letters flow into each other like genuine cursive writing. Best when you want the "handwritten letter" feeling.
- Display handwriting (Pacifico, Lobster, Caveat, Kaushan Script) — letters look hand-drawn but stay slightly separate. Better readability for titles and headers; less formal than connected scripts.
The Google Docs (Default) filter narrows the list to fonts already available in the Google Docs font menu, so you can keep your design consistent between the PNG and a document. Google Docs (Installable) covers fonts you can add via "More fonts" in Docs. Either way the PNG you download is the same — these labels just tell you where else the font is reusable.
Cursive Generator FAQ
What is a cursive handwriting generator? ▾
A tool that takes the text you type and renders it in real handwriting fonts, then lets you download the result as an image. It's for moments when you need cursive writing as a graphic — invitations, posters, Canva, Google Docs headers — rather than text you can paste.
How is it different from cursive text generators? ▾
Cursive text generators output Unicode characters you copy and paste into a text field (like an Instagram bio). This handwriting generator outputs an image (PNG) using real handwriting fonts. Use this when the destination accepts pictures; use a text tool when it only accepts text.
Can I download the cursive handwriting as a PNG? ▾
Yes. Click Save and the cursive image saves as a high-resolution PNG. You can also use the transparent-background option to layer it over other designs.
Which fonts are the most like real cursive writing? ▾
Connected scripts read most like genuine cursive — Dancing Script, Allura, Sacramento, Pinyon Script, and Great Vibes are good starting points. Display fonts like Pacifico and Caveat look more casual and printed.
Can I use the cursive handwriting image commercially? ▾
The fonts in this generator are open-source Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, so you can use the generated images in commercial work. As always, check each individual font's license page if your project has strict licensing requirements.
Why can't I copy and paste the cursive handwriting? ▾
Because real fonts only render on a system that has that font installed. To survive a copy-paste into any text field, the cursive needs to be Unicode characters (which already carry their look). The Text Styles tab on the homepage produces pasteable Unicode cursive instead.
Is the cursive handwriting generator free? ▾
Yes — completely free, no signup, no watermark, and no usage limit. We never store your text or the images you generate.
